This Is Typical BS…

6 Aug

Definition: bull sh!t (BS)
Pronounced: bul-sheee-it

Lies, Hyperbole, Intentional Exaggeration, Distortion, Baloney

Examples:

“Wow, it’s finally happened! Liddle’ Mike Pence, a man who was about to be ousted as Governor Indiana until I came along and made him V.P., has gone to the Dark Side. I never told a newly emboldened (not based on his 2% poll numbers!)

Pence to put me above the Constitution, or that Mike was “too honest.” He’s delusional, and now he wants to show he’s a tough guy. I once read a major magazine article on Mike. It said he was not a very good person. I was surprised, but the article was right. Sad!”

And There’s This…

“NO WAY I CAN GET A FAIR TRIAL, OR EVEN CLOSE TO A FAIR TRIAL, IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

THERE ARE MANY REASONS FOR THIS, BUT JUST ONE IS THAT I AM CALLING FOR A FEDERAL TAKEOVER OF THIS FILTHY AND CRIME RIDDEN EMBARRASSMENT TO OUR NATION, WHERE MURDERS HAVE JUST SHATTERED THE ALL TIME RECORD, OTHER VIOLENT CRIMES HAVE NEVER NEEN WORSE, AND TOURISTS HAVE FLED.

THE FEDERAL TAKEOVER IS VERY UNPOPULAR WITH POTENTIAL AREA JURORS, BUT NECESSARY FOR SAFETY, GREATNESS, & FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE!”

Slavery Provided Personal Benefits, My Ass…

25 Jul

One White Man’s View…

Slavery was far from some kind of humanitarian effort by white people to uplift blacks. Anyone who believes that pile of crap is blind to the actual practice of slavery.

Make no mistake, if they were taught any “trade”, it absolutely wasn’t meant to benefit the slave; it was to benefit the master. Ultimately, slave labor was used to either save or produce money for the “owner.”

Of course there were slaves that served as more than field hands. Some were overseers, wagon drivers, or blacksmiths, and some were cooks, housekeepers, wet nurses and child caregivers. Many were designated as breeders, meant to produce offspring (free labor) for the slave owner. In any case, all of the trades and task performed by slaves were to benefit the master.

And while slavery (in terms of ownership) did finally end, the imposed subservient position of black Americans has endured for decades. To many, blacks weren’t even considered second class citizens. They have been persecuted, segregated, discriminated against, beaten and lynched; in most cases for nothing more than the color of their skin.

When teaching critical race theory is challenged and eliminated from public education, we are whitewashing actual American history for the benefit of white America’s guilt.

Ok, so no American actually owns another human being today, but the lasting impact from slavery is still obvious in this country. As a whole, blacks are still educationally, socially and economically disadvantaged. White America should feel guilty and our children should be exposed to the sins of racial discrimination.

As a wise young Jewish girl once said, “What’s done can’t be undone, but at least you can keep it from happening again” (Ann Frank “The Diary of a Young Girl” 1947).

Black lives do matter… and we shouldn’t erase history, we should learn from it and strive to do better and never let the worst of it happen again.

Dump Dumb Senator Tuberville

Tommy Tuberville Failed Coaching At Auburn…

“Tuberville was forced out because he [had] been frustrating Auburn’s fans, powerful boosters, and administration with his machinations for years….

Because they all knew that so long as Tuberville stayed in Auburn, he would never be a threat to build a dominant program. (The squealing was loudest, incidentally, from the newspapers that cover the Georgia Bulldogs, who wanted Tuberville right where he was for fear that Auburn would hire someone better.

Tuberville is the perfect coach to have at your rival…someone who wins just enough to make it impossible to fire him, but not enough to beat you when you are really good and have a shot at contending for a conference or national title.)”

Next Tommy Tuberville Failed In Business…

“[Tuberville] was mired in business failings by a lawsuit and even a questionable charity that [raised] money but [gave] very little away…

In 2014, Tuberville started the Tommy Tuberville Foundation, which has given only a small portion of its money to charity while spending tens of thousands of dollars to stage annual golf tournaments….

A hedge fund Tuberville helped start in 2009 was the subject of a criminal investigation in which Tuberville’s business partner pleaded guilty to fraud. Tuberville, who denied wrongdoing, later settled a lawsuit filed by investors who lost millions.”

And Now Senator Tuberville…

“Sen. Tommy Tuberville ran for office while arguing for the “rule of law” and criticizing China — but in less than eight months on the job, the Alabama Republican [broke] a federal financial transparency law, while also selling stock options of China’s leading e-commerce company…

The trades ranged in total value from $894,000 to more than $3.5 million, according to the report filed Friday. The report lists values in ranges, not in absolute terms…

A review by The New York Times found that Mr. Tuberville, [who had] a history of involvement with at least three people who were later convicted of financial fraud in what were described as Ponzi schemes. Mr. Tuberville was largely seen as a victim and was never charged with a crime.

The review raised questions about Mr. Tuberville’s judgment and financial acumen. While he has said on the campaign trail that he hoped to serve on the “banking finance” committee — the Senate has separate, and prestigious, banking and finance committees — he has at times undercut his own qualifications. In regards to an ill-fated hedge fund venture, he once told a reporter, “I’m not smart enough to understand all the numbers.”

WASHINGTON, July 11 (Reuters)

“Republican U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville on Tuesday said white nationalists are racist after having denied that earlier in the day, an incident that drew criticism from the chamber’s top Democrat, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer…

The Alabama senator’s earlier comments defending white nationalists were not the only controversy involving him on Tuesday…

“Democratic President Joe Biden’s nominee to become the top U.S. general earlier in the day warned that Tuberville’s blockade of military promotions in a protest over abortion policy could have a far-reaching impact across the armed forces…

Tuberville, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has refused to confirm officer positions since the start of this year, citing his disapproval of the Pentagon’s 2022 decision to support service members and their families in traveling out of state to receive an abortion.”

To many, he’s an embarrassment to the state of Alabama and the USA, plus a pitiful excuse of a Senator.

I really miss past Senator Doug Jones.

Haters Gonna Hate…

24 May

Haters have always had the need to hate; to diminish, disrespect and discriminate against others who they feel are somehow less than them.

They base their hatred on many things, things that can change over time based on who they believe are the ones somehow threatening their entitlement and are most easily oppressed; typically minorities.

They may hate because of skin color, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual identity, social class or simple envy and greed, however their reasoning typically has no actual basis in reality.

Psychologist will say these haters have self esteem issues and basically have a need to believe they are superior to others in some way.

We’ve seen these haters throughout history, it’s definitely something built into the mental condition of some human beings. In the Americas, haters came along with the European ships that brought the first immigrants to these shores.

The Spanish, the Portuguese, the English; they all came with a history of hate. Civilizations were destroyed, indigenous people and their culture were displaced and replaced by the “white man’s” society and religion. Slavery was not just tolerated, but accepted as a right. The natives were seen as less civilized, ignorant and only useful as tools for the betterment of the white conquerors.

This type of thinking didn’t end as “modern civilization” came about across the Americas. Slavery built the United States, and as more immigration came about, discrimination and hatred soon followed; and it wasn’t simply based on skin color. The haters hated minorities they saw as threats to their established social status: Blacks, Italians, Irish, Asians, Hispanics, Jews, Catholics, Muslims, gays and even women.

As these minorities grew in size and political strength, the haters needed new groups to hate. They needed smaller, less powerful groups to rally their hate filled supporters; and who better than transgender people and drag queens.

Surely they could hate and discriminate against these types without much pushback from mainstream Americans; and so far it seems they may be correct.

States after states have passed or are proposing laws that specifically target these two groups of Americans. Targeting them not because they are doing anything wrong, but simply because they exist and are different.

After all, Haters need to Hate, and I hate that about them.

America’s Shameful History Of Manifest Destiny That Won’t Be Taught In Many States…

Though greatly romanticized, Manifest Destiny also had a real, more complex, dark side. The doctrine’s ideals were conscious of what it meant to create a better life in lands that already had lives going about. American westward expansion, for example, resulted in the genocide of Native Americans, as well as the forced relocation (or at times voluntary but manipulated) of many more. To the south, the conflicts with Mexico and the eventual outbreak of a declared war also resulted in unfair and bloody consequences for both nations.

Many white settlers and proponents for expansion worried that Native Americans would prove to be obstacles to their land ambitions. Many thought that Native Americans stood in the way of progress and civilization; many white settlers assumed they were uncivilized “savages” who made no good use of the land they possessed. These proponents of expansion pressured the American federal government to remove the Native Americans from their lands and give them instead to the new settlers.

In addition to westward expansion and the forced removal of Native American tribes, the United States sought to expand its borders by looking at its neighbor in the south. Mexico had undergone a similar independence struggle only a few decades after the United States. By 1821, Mexico was an independent country more than twice the size of America but consumed by internal turmoil and frequently threatened by external interventions.

In 1846, American President James K. Polk found a casus belli to invade Mexico when American military forces were attacked on disputed land. Thus, the Mexican-American War began, a conflict that led to a dramatic increase in America’s borders and its positioning as the main hegemonic power on the continent. Although not everyone in the United States agreed to the “wicked” war, namely the Whigs opposed it, a surge in patriotism and the fulfilled promise of Manifest Destiny made the United States’ ambitions unstoppable.

The expansionist ambitions of the United States were, on many occasions, closely linked to the institution of slavery. Especially during the 19th century, slavery was a driving factor in the political dynamics of America. By the 1850s, tensions were as high as ever, as any further United States territorial expansions meant the topic of slavery would rise again and stir debate.

Thus, every new territorial addition for the United States meant slavery was back on the table for discussion. Tensions continued to rise until the outbreak of the American Civil War. Manifest Destiny had planted the seeds for rising tensions, with many standing against slavery also opposing reckless expansionism, such as President Abraham Lincoln, who opposed the Mexican-American War. Furthermore, Manifest Destiny was undoubtedly driven by slavery, as the American expansionist machine was fueled by slavery.

Manifest Destiny was the initial chapter of a larger story of American expansionism and hegemony. By the end of the 19th century, there was little room in North America for the United States to take without major consequences or conflicts. Thus, America turned its attention towards different shores and different actions. Namely, the United States made use of its new position as a major power to police the continent and fulfill its own national interests. Through a new interpretation of the Monroe Doctrine, the United States intervened in Latin America to secure its interests. The Monroe Doctrine was first articulated by President James Monroe as a foreign policy opposing European colonialism in the Americas. It claimed to work in the interests of the US’ neighbors, but instead, the doctrine functioned at times more like a new brand of Manifest Destiny. America assumed the position of necessary interceder, arguing that if they didn’t intervene, European powers would.

Manifest Destiny is one of the major puzzle pieces necessary to assemble the general picture of America as a country. Beginning with the birth of the nation, its repercussions can be felt even today. A decisive policy with complex and controversial angles, Manifest Destiny is crucial for understanding the United States’ historical landscape and deciphering the modern stage it stands on now.

Alabama’s Disgrace…

The “Granny Governor” of Alabama may be longing for the olden days of her youth when discrimination and disrespect were perfectly acceptable by hard-core conservatives… I guess those deplorable days of old aren’t in the past after all.

InJustice In The Court…

Who knows how the court will finally rule, but there are still a couple of InJustices (or more) that may sink the drug, not that they have a legitimate reason. This court doesn’t seem to care about legitimacy.
