What About Bill

I began my communications career in the marketing, advertising and public relations field of business over fifty years ago. After receiving my B.S. degree in marketing and economics, my first professional position was in media sales management and commercial production at the number one profit-making ABC television affiliate in the country.

I left the station to work with a small female owned Birmingham advertising agency where I acted as an account executive and creative director. A few years later, myself and two other partners joined together to form what eventually became one of the South’s largest advertising agencies. While there, I also developed a political consulting arm located in Washington D.C. that served US Senators, US House Representatives, Governors and Issue campaigns across the country.

After 10 years, I left that agency to form The Elam Group, marketing, event promotion and public relations agency, which I headed for more than forty years.

What’s Ink All About

The term “getting ink” was once used to describe coverage in newspapers. When initially used, this was the primary means of getting a story, article or commentary out to the public. Today we have the power ourselves to get “ink” through the internet. We all have the opportunity to express our ideas publicly through the various social media sites.

ElamInk is my outlet. I’ll share my own original works, ideas and comments as well as including news and post from other sources. You may agree or disagree with what you see here, but my intention is provide information and to spark debate and discussion of important topics.

Fair Warning: I will delete or block things I don’t like, find unpleasant or too offensive.
