Biden did a damn good job last night of touting his very positive accomplishments, making his points and standing his ground against a couple of right wing-nut hecklers. He showed a sharpness that many were not expecting and I feel it was his best performance in years.
I gathered that McCarthy had a meeting with Republican members prior to the speech where among other things he asked for no drama or acting up from his party while the President spoke. Not unexpectedly, he got no respect or cooperation from a number of his colleagues.
I almost felt sorry for him as a couple conservative clowns who must have come directly from a “red carpet” walk somewhere made pathetic spectacles of themselves.
I will say that McCarthy himself didn’t terribly overdo the eye-rolling and smirking, but his complete impotence as Speaker became even more evident.
